Opening speech

An introductory address dedicated to the 200-year tradition and history of the Warsaw University of Technology, with reference to the centenary of management studies celebrated last year.

Grzegorz Kunikowski, PhD

Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Management, Warsaw University of Technology, and Chair of the Scientific Society of Organisation and Management at the university. Between 2016 and 2024, he served as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Management. His research focuses on public governance, risk management, energy transition, and the application of analysis methods in managerial and public-sector decision-making.

Vilmantė Kumpikaitė-Valiūnienė,
Professor, KTU, Lithuania

Professor, Head of the Research Group on Digital Society at Kaunas University of Technology. Country Representative for Lithuania in the European Academy of Management (EURAM). Active member of leading scholarly organizations, including the Academy of Management and the European Group for Organizational Studies, and is a fellow of IEDRC. She has extensive international experience and has delivered keynote speeches in multiple countries, including Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Australia, France, Italy, and Vietnam. 

Yanki Hartijasti,
Associate Professor, UI, Indonesia

Associate Professor at the Department of Management, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia. She earned MBA degree from University of the Philippines. She also obtained Master of Science and Doctor in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Universitas Indonesia. After gaining fifteen years of professional experiences in various industries as Human Resources practitioner, she then decided to take the plunge into the academic world.

Viana Hassan,
PhD, ETE, Malta

Actively involved in academic and research work in Tourism & Cultural Management in Lebanon and Malta. She is the Founder and CEO of European Tourism and Events Training Academy. She has more than 19 years of proffesional experience in Tourism Fields. She is also an Experienced Lecturer with more than 16 years’ experience at several universities in Lebanon,  UK and Malta.

Masood Nawaz Kalyar,
Associate Professor, UF, Pakistan

Tenured Associate Professor of Management at Lyallpur Business School, Government College University Faisalabad, Pakistan. He holds a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Management from Warsaw University of Technology, Poland, and earned his PhD in Management Sciences from Inonu University, Turkey. He has led internationally and nationally funded projects supported by NAWA (Poland) and NRPU (Pakistan). His research focuses on leadership, organizational behavior, decision sciences, and strategic management, with publications in top-tier international journals.

Mirosław Wójcik, PhD

Diversity in organizations also means diversity in expectations regarding pay and how it is communicated. Can pay transparency simultaneously promote fairness, build trust, and address the needs of different employee groups? During this presentation, the first findings from the Pay Transparency Barometer study will be shared, together with reflections on the role of pay transparency in fostering more inclusive, equitable, and responsible workplaces.
